Will’s grandfather farmed this corner of Northumberland and called it “his slice of paradise” — seventy-five acres of farmland wrapped around a five-acre lake, twenty minutes from Newcastle and somehow a world away from it.
He wasn’t one for exaggeration, so the name stuck because it was simply accurate. The lake, the islands, the woodland, the wildlife: it’s the kind of place you don’t quite believe is private until you’ve walked the whole way round and met nobody.

We’re Will and Bea. We live on the farm with our kids — who will absolutely mention your wedding if they hear about it — and in 2025 we opened JEM Lodge on the lake’s edge: one cabin, one bedroom, a hot tub above the water and nobody else around.
We host the way we’d want to be hosted. We’ll meet you when you arrive, show you how the log burner behaves, and then leave you completely alone — two minutes away if you need us, invisible if you don’t.
“Thanks Will and Bea for sharing your patch of countryside heaven.”

JEM Lodge is the first. We’re planning more lodges around the farm in the years ahead — each one private, each on its own patch, never crowding the lake. The quiet is the whole point; we’re keeping it that way.
